Electronic File Transfer
Culp QC considers your data privacy very carefully when
transferring files to us electronically. Therefore we provide
three methods of Electronic File Transfer to suit your needs.
Open file transfer
Using this method, your data is sent to us without encryption.
Although insecure, it is the easiest to set up. This method
is the last choice we recommend.
Encrypted data over clear channel
In this method, you encrypt your data, then send it to us
over an unecrypted channel. The data arrives at Culp QC encrypted,
and so you must provide us with the necessary decryption keys.
This method is secure, but slightly more cumbersome than
our preferred
method of file transfer.
Cleartext data over encrypted channel
This is Culp QC's preferred method of file transfer. You
establish a connection to our servers using a public/private
keyring pair thereby creating an encrypted channel over which
your data is transferred. Your data is not encrypted by you,
making the process simpler for all concerned. Your
data arrives on our servers unencrypted, making it unnecessary
to exchange key information for decryption. However, during
the time your data is in transit on public networks, it is
encrypted and very secure.
